June 28, 2011, Bergen Norway – Cortland, a leading provider of international high performance rope, slings, cables and umbilicals, has named Øystein Larsen as the new General Manager of the Norway facility.  Larsen will be responsible for on-site leadershipat the 39,000 sq ft Selantic Sling engineering and design center in Bergen.

March 30, 2011 Anacortes WA, USA – Cortland recently produced the world’s largest 12-strand rope for a European client, constructed on the giant 12 strand braiding machine using Cortland’s patented Plasma® synthetic fibre. This rope will be used to create an enormous industrial lifting sling.
