Cortland to consolidate sling manufacturing and expertise in the Gulf of Mexico

Cortland, global designer and manufacturer of engineered synthetic ropes and slings, is consolidating their Norway manufacturing, engineering and project management of round sling, tether and custom integrated hardware into their Houston, TX facilities.

“By combining all heavy lift engineering and manufacturing operations into a single location, we will be able to better serve our global customer base” said Stuart Janke, VP of Global Sales for Cortland Rope & Assemblies. “The Houston location is best suited to deliver solutions to our customers using our entire family of engineered lifting products including Selantic® and Plasma® slings as well as hardware solutions.  The transition will take place over the next few months allowing for a seamless transfer with no interruption in delivery or design services.”

Cortland will continue to design and manufacture under the Selantic® brand with the same commitment to engineering, quality, and service. Cortland’s Houston facilities include our global sales and engineering offices as well as fabrication, proof-loading, and inspection with capabilities for testing and recertification of synthetic fiber ropes and slings up to 600t (1.3 million pounds).
