Cortland secures influential contract with Mooreast

Cortland Company, a global provider of customized rope and cable solutions, has secured a distributor partnership with Singapore-based mooring and rigging solutions provider, Mooreast Asia PTE Ltd.

Mooreast will commission Cortland as a preferred supplier of high performance synthetic fiber ropes and slings, including both Plasma® and Selantic® brand of slings, particularly for rigging and heavy lift applications. The Plasma product range will be kept ready for supply by Mooreast, which will also provide splicing, repair, inspection and proof loading services.

Cortland’s Selantic slings will be supplied from the company’s round sling manufacturing facility in Perth, Australia with specialists available to offer product knowledge to Mooreast when required.  The Selantic brand of slings will be available in multiple high performance materials including HMPE, Aramid, and LCP fibers.

It means Cortland will have greater influence in the market, with increased service and products provision and crucially increased agility for customers.

Sim Koon Lam, Managing Director, Mooreast, said: “We have been aware of the quality and strength of Cortland’s slings for some time. They are a highly respected company and have supported many major offshore projects here in the Asia Pacific region.

“We look forward to having access to their expertise and product range as we progress with our own growth plans.  I know Cortland will prove to be a key partner for our marine, oil and gas and renewable energy sector activities.”

Stuart Janke, Vice President Global Sales, Cortland, said: “Collaboration with Mooreast is a natural transition to utilize the infrastructure we have established over the last 18 months by increasing our regional manufacturing and testing capabilities.  We already have the highest levels of quality products, engineering, and services from our facility in Perth, Australia.  We are well equipped to support and supply designed, manufactured and tested products to our clients challenging requirements.”

“We believe the speed of service offered through Mooreast will create mutual benefit and enhance the packages we can offer. Within the Asian markets, Mooreast has proven to be forward-thinking and has a long-track record of product supply and successful project execution.”
