Cortland is a trusted provider of cables and tethers
for ROV applications

ROV Solutions

A remotely operated vehicle (ROV) performs subsea construction, operation and maintenance tasks, and can allow video observation of both divers and underwater equipment. The safe link between the surface vessel and the ROV is a Main Lift Cable and Tether.

ROV Tether cables are exposed to dynamic cycling, thermal and electrical stress, currents and rough seas. The main purpose of the cables is the transmission of power, signal, communication and tensile loads to the surface vessel or other remote location. With a long-standing reputation for excellence in market leading design and engineered solutions, Cortland offers custom-built ROV Main Lift Cables and ROV Tethers. Cortland ROV solutions are designed to perform to client's particular needs, offering extreme strength, durability and buoyancy characteristics, to name a few.

We have also proactively responded to the continued market need for increased operating voltages and have invested in the development and testing work required to prove our products suitable for voltages up to 7.4kV. This work includes: partial discharge evaluation, voltage testing and analysis to IEC/TS 61251:2008, step voltage breakdown testing, time to breakdown testing, Weibull analysis, and probability of failure analysis.
