Team Dynamics:

  • You will experience direct exposure to customers in medical, aerospace and robotics industries; we work with them to solve their problems
  • You will work closely with our sales and operations teams to provide engineering support, such as product design, problem solving, and product technical support.
  • Along with Manufacturing and Process Engineering, you will assure the most efficient methods of manufacture and assembly are developed to meet appropriate specifications.


  • You will be responsible for maintaining and developing product design, methods, techniques, practices and manufacturing procedures to deliver solutions which meet or exceed customer expectations.

Day in the Life:

  • You will be working with hi-tech synthetic materials – as strong as steel, lighter than water
  • You will have the opportunity to work with a wide range of applications, from tiny cords the size of human hair used in medical, aerospace, and robotic applications, to heavy lift slings with breaking strengths in the millions of pounds
  • You will have the opportunity for hands-on work in our testing and fabrication center in Houston
  • You will have the opportunity to travel to customer sites as well as to our two manufacturing locations in Central New York and Puget Sound, Washington
  • You will interact with customers, industry groups and internal personnel to identify needs and develop solutions.
  • You will formulate design concepts and create drawings, prototypes and manufacturing procedures based on sound engineering practices and input from customer and/or sales personnel.
  • You will develop and coordinate projects, plans, and products from conception, design, development and evaluation to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • You will expand your expertise in state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing methods and innovations in materials through technical journals, seminars, advance degree programs, etc.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Education, Skills & Experience
Required Skills:

  • BS Degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering fields from an accredited university.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Product Design, Project Management and New Product Development processes.
  • Must have demonstrated creative ability and good business and engineering decision making skills.
  • Must be able to communicate with team members and customers at all levels within a diverse workforce.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency of software such as Creo or SolidWorks and MS Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to work scheduled hours and overtime as needed.
  • Preferred Skills:
  • Rope or textile manufacturing, design and/or application engineering.
  • Familiarity with synthetic fibers and textile processing.
  • Mechanical testing experience.
  • Familiarity with steel cable design or use.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing Continuous Improvement to the completion of complex assignments.
